“Is this Robb Hill of Robb Hill Photo?”
It was a volunteer fireman from Fair Play, South Carolina. He said documents with my name on them were found along the side of I-85. Earlier that morning the moving truck with all of our belongings crashed near the South Carolina Georgia border.
Moving companies are legally required to deliver your goods to you regardless of the condition. Once all the back and forth with the insurance and moving companies was finished what remained of our household was delivered to us. The whole process took more than six months.
All of our furniture was destroyed. The rest of what we owned was scraped off the road, pulled from the grass, and put into new boxes. When those boxes were finally delivered the unpacking was like having a bipolar Christmas. “Hey, this survi… aawww, nope, it’s broken. Oh, but look, the tea kettle survived. And here’s one shoe…”
But there is beauty in everything, even loss. These are some of the items from those boxes.
